A demanding educational system that fosters each student’s abilities and talents

The British curriculum regulates education in all of the schools in the United Kingdom through a structure divided into different stages, Key Stages, as can be seen in the following summary:

In a warm, inviting classroom, our Montessori focus encourages the children to discover the world around them, as they learn to respect others and develop their independence. We guide them, individually, so that they can begin to discover their own skills and see what most interests them, which allows their natural abilities to flourish.

According to Maria Montessori, small children learn best through practical, concrete experiences. Children develop their self-confidence as they become active learners, participating in a wide range or activities in English. We also encourage them to work in groups and learn to respect others’ feeling. At the same time, we foster play, so that all of the children can express themselves, grow and show their intelligence.

Reception

Reception is designed to give the children practice using the learning skills they will need when they enter Primary School. Our education strengthens the each child’s sense of identity through a wide range of activities. These activities stimulate the social, emotional and physical development of each child, which is especially important in this phase of Early Childhood.

Led by their own curiosity, the children will work on reading and writing through the use of stories. Using intuitive learning, the will explore mathematical concepts and discover the world around them as well as themselves.

Debates become part of the daily activity of the students who will be taking the SATS exams in the areas of Literacy and Numeracy, as established by the British System. In this course, the students begin to study French and German.

In Year 6, we take advantage of the opportunities offered by technology and the study of mathematics (symmetry, systems of measurement, proportions, scales and formulas) to combine them with other types of learning – linguistic, scientific and artistic. The objective of the last course in this learning stage is that the students begin the next stage, Secondary, with a solid understanding of these concepts.
